What is Bohag 2010?

WHAT IS BOHAG 2010?

Bohag 2010 is an agreement and a document between the trade associations and the Swedish Consumer Agency that aims to create a basic set of rules for the relationship between the moving company and you as a customer.

The document Bohag 2010 explains in detail what you, as a consumer, and we, as a carrier, should consider when concluding a removal contract. The document states, inter alia the obligations of each party, payment and cancellation procedures and what to do if any goods are damaged during the move/transport.

As a customer, you have much to gain from hiring a moving company that relates to Bohag 2010, because you can know that you are dealing with a serious moving company. Here you can read more about and review a small part of what is included in Bohag 2010, the full agreement is also available as a downloadable PDF.

INSURANCE & LIABILITY UNDER BOHAG 2010

When we draw up an agreement on a move with you as a customer, we adhere to the regulations drawn up by the Swedish Transport Association (SÅ), the Swedish Association of Furniture Transporters (SMF) and the Swedish Consumer Agency; the so-called Bohag 2010. Below we go through some of the aspects of our responsibilities in relation to Bohag 2010.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS A MOVING COMPANY

When you hire us at Kvalitetsflytt, your belongings are insured by us and our insurance, throughout the move. This applies irrespective of who carries out the move or the vehicles used for the move. Through us, your household goods are insured in Sweden, the Nordic countries and Western Europe throughout our handling during loading/packing as well as during transportation and unloading and possibly unpacking.

  • Your household goods are still insured up to 10 million SEK (at least 20 base amounts, i.e. at least about 900,000 SEK).
  • The maximum amount can be increased at extra cost, please contact us for a quote.
  • If you have something with a value of more than half a price base amount (about SEK 22,000), it is your obligation as a customer to inform us of this.
  • from an insurance point of view, it may be necessary to take out additional insurance for specific goods, or to carry out special handling of the specific goods, e.g. packing or similar.

EXAMPLES OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A CUSTOMER

Even if we as a moving company are responsible for your furniture, boxes and other things that are moved, you should be aware that you as a customer are responsible for packing everything in the best possible way to minimize the risk of damage. If something is damaged during the move and this can be assumed to be due to poor packaging, the moving company is not liable. Therefore, make sure to protect fragile items carefully so that they can withstand a potentially shaky moving van on the way to their new address.
